The screams heard across the fields

At night of football practice.  Luke's team was running through their offense.  Carter's team was having a scrimmage.

Only a few plays on offense and HUGE scream comes from the bottom of the pile.  It was Carter.  Jeremy (one of Carter's coaches) and another coach quickly ran to him.  Carter let out another blood curdling scream.  Jeremy and I have NEVER heard him scream like that...none of our children have screamed like that and everyone has been in casts before, stitches, etc.

I was told to get the car because Carter needed to go to the ER...except my car was way up the top of the park but someone gave me a ride.  I quickly grabbed Luke from his practice and raced down to pick up Carter.

Carter arm was a mess, he seemed light-headed from the pain (which we did not expect because he broke his hand before and did not react like this).

Off to the ER, his arm was broken in two places.  He was in so much pain.  He did not sleep well that night, woke up asking for pain med.

Then the ortho the following day.  Two broken bones down at his right wrist, a buckle fracture.  A clean break so healing should go smoothly and put in a splint

Problem, Carter is/was the starting quarterback for his team.  He may be back on the field in a month.  After the pain started to fade away, his disappointment in missing football set in.
