Soccer skills

The start of soccer season has been a success.  Both boys are playing great.

Carter really showing his foot skills and even a header.  And he had the opportunity to be captain this past weekend.
And Luke is showing he likes to play tough/rough (even against one of his fellow wrestlers).
Luke wants to have a mohawk for all of his games (kind of superstitious and since he cannot do it for wrestling or football and mommy does allow them for school or church).

Old Waterford School

Carter and Luke attend Waterford Elementary School.  Being part of the Waterford community has it benefits, the Waterford fair, walking field trips to the little village and in 4th grade it is a day of school back in time.
The 4th graders dress up and spend the day at the old Waterford School as if they were in the 1800s.
They dress the part.
Act the part.  Carter was Ernest Johnson.  Work was done on the personal chalkboards and memorizing old text.  Classroom rules were from back then (ie stand when you were called on).  The kids even had to pack lunches in a basket and cloth for food they would typically have during that time.
And play the part.  Complete with the recess of hoops and ropes.
It helps that they also have a wonderful class and teacher.

Spring Sports

First soccer games of the season.
Luke scored 8 goals (and they still lost...bummer).  And he wanted the faux hawk hairdo for his game.
Luke is not afraid to get physical, his "signature" move seems to be a good push to his opponent...
Then Carter's game.  They won, 2-1 and beat an undefeated team.
And we cannot forget the cutest soccer fan.  Brayden came ready with his adidas gear and even little socks patterned like a soccer ball.
The next day was basketball for Carter...an interesting game.  Carter is on a 4th grade team.  They played a 5th grade team whose shortest boy was taller than our tallest.  Needless to say Carter's team did not walk away with a win but they certainly hustled that game.
