And Luke is now part of the game

the game of hunting.

He got his first deer.  Please ask him all about it and the guts...he loves to tell the story.

And another one

Another Jenkins boy is now a real hunter.
Carter got his first deer.  He was hunting with his Papa Jenkins.  Carter was so excited, he had a great shot (unlike the week before, he shot a deer but could not find it).  This evening was a success.  Ask Carter all about it, he will be happy to share.

They dropped off the deer with the butcher...venison, anyone?

Crazy Hair night

The boys started AWANA at local church (ours is just too far away).  The good thing is, our good friend is the children's pastor, PBC)  and our boys know a lot of kids at this church.

So far they have enjoyed it and you kids can join them.  This night was crazy hair night.  A little hair paint and they were set for fun.

Luke wanted to sleep in it for school the next day...um mommy said no.

Finishing up at the Farm

Several times over the summer, Carter and Luke worked at their grandfather's farm, Promised Land Produce.  The first time for the produce farm and lots of work to be done.
The boys enjoyed every minute of it (especially driving the equipment and hanging with the twenty-something workers that treated them like big boys).

Then the boys finally saw things they picked (well maybe not the exact item they picked but the produce they helped with) at the grocery store.

Hours of football

Football is in full swing.  Both boys are having a great time.

Luke's team (Jeremy is the coach) remains undefeated.  Luke is #9, his cousin is #15.

Carter's team (he is #2)...well is the exact opposite of undefeated, however Carter's football ability and confidence continues to improve (even though he is on the younger side since moving up to B league).

Family Farm Fun

I tried carefully to type Family Farm Fun and not Family Funny Farm...

Oh how the kids love to be with their cousins and now they are getting older, the toys are getting bigger...thankfully their driving is getting better.  The kids have been learning how to drive this very old tractor, putting it in gear to neutral, etc.
Then the ATV, Luke may have been told to slow down a few times.
And then Carter was in charge of driving this crew...some of the kids reported his driving may have been too fast.

The conclusion to the first day of school

Well, Carter and Luke loved school.
The picture of the calm before the storm.
Everyone was very tired at the end of the day (and hungry).  That picture of sitting around the table sharing great things about our day did not happen...  But recovered after some food and a little down time.

First day of school

Where has time gone!  Carter is in 5th grade (and realized that he can sit in the back of the bus this year).  Luke is in 3rd grade.  Both boys were thrilled and could barely go to sleep the night before.

We started with a big breakfast.
Following by the mandatory torture of pictures.
Brayden left a little bit after them...not sure about his start of the school year.
