Magical place

We have returned from our trip to Orlando, FL. We drove. That's right we drove from Northern VA to Orlando. The morning that we were leaving and only 10 minutes from the house when Luke declared from the back, "We are here! I see the lights of Disney!" Um, it was the lights of Leesburg...oh boy we were in for a long drive. Actually everyone one did great with the drive. We joined my parents and my sister's family.

Once we arrived we hit the ground running. We hit up Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Disney Studios and Sea World. The kids lasted from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. almost everyday. It was so much fun to watch them soak in every bit of the moment. Carter loved Splash Mountain and Buzz Lightyear. He also got into the pin trading (who knew about this obsession by many Disney fans). Luke loved Splash Mountain and pretty much everything else. Brayden, well he just went along for the ride.

-Animal Kingdom was fun for the Safari Ride. Carter spent his time shouting out all of the animals he knew and correcting all of us when we said the wrong thing. We also rode a couple of rides and watched the Nemo and Lion King show which were amazing.

Sea World was fun. We decided to see the Shamu Show first thing. And we sat in the splash zone (aka the soak zone) and boy did we get it. The boys thought it was fun to get soaked, me not so much. Brayden was safely away from it all in the handicap section with my mom.

It was an amazing trip. Such a special time.

How do we feel now that it is all done...

Exhausted and cannot wait to do it again.

Hey Carrie,
It looks like you had an awesome time in FL! I can't wait until our kids our just a bit older so we can make a venture down south too! (I've never been to Disney World either, so you can imagine who will be first in line for everything!)

Anyway, this is a little random, but I don't think I have your email address, so I thought I'd write you here. I came upon this blog article recently that I thought you might appreciate: http://www.challies.com/archives/christian-living/the-intentions-of-providence.php

This article deals specifically with people who have children with down's syndrome, but the point behind the article is one that parent's with children with disabilities will all resonate with.

I love the tie in with Jesus healing a blind man- the blindness was not a result of sin, but was a way in which to display God's glory. THAT'S the truth and perspective that brings hope and strength.

Hope you're doing well!
