Carter's Party - Camo Style

Out to the Jenkins farm for the party.
First up a game of Capture the Flag...in a giant corn field.
All the boys with camo shirts, marshmallow shooters, and their team color band.
They were fired up and ready to go. Hiding the flag in the corn fields, defending their color and trying to capture the other.
Only problem it was a hot October day and the marshmallows went melting (thankfully the boys were not bothered by this at all).

Then back to the little old farm house for pizza.

Next a giant Scavenger Hunt (over the 200+ acres of the farm). The teams got a list of clues, a map and pictures to help guide them.

Finish it up with cupcakes and presents.

Then mommy needed to torture with a few more photos.

Brayden was there is his camo too!

Breakfast on the Farm

A crisp cool morning. We loaded up and headed out to the farm. Picked up some hot breakfast on the way.

Sitting on the porch of the old farm house, we ate our breakfast as the food warmed our bellies and the morning sun warmed our backs. Then we drove around the farm in the UTV.

It was the kind of morning you wish to keep on going. Brayden even enjoyed it.

Carter is 8!

Carter is 8 years old.

  • He decided on waffles (with whip cream) and eggs for his birthday breakfast.
  • Luke hid several new books around the family room for Carter to find.
  • Then off to school.
  • Come home and search for another present in the house (a DSi game)
  • Off to football (they played great).
  • Get ready for bed and find new pajamas (he loves feet jammies) and birthday cards in his room.
As he settled in for the night, he said, "It was a good birthday."

We love birthdays

Celebrating a big birthday for my mom. Family, food and fun.

Then out to the garden to pick pumpkins...needed the ATV to haul them back to the house.

ATV got stuck and needed a push.

Meanwhile, Brayden is hanging out with his Papa inside.

Waterford Fair 2010

The Waterford fair marks the start of fall for our little town. The kids spend the school day at the fair. Luke was thrilled to go on his first school field trip. Carter was just happy to wander the fair. The fair is based upon the historic days of Waterford. The crafts, activities and home tours are from the early Quaker days.

We (his nurse and I) loaded up Brayden for a beautiful day at the fair.

Stopped for some fun soda pop. Tried to find Carter and Luke on their field trip and only found Carter.

We love parties

It was time for the boy's cousin to celebrate his birthday...at a bounce house. Carter and Luke bounced and bounced. Brayden enjoyed the bubbles and a ball.

Canada and birds

Jeremy, his dad and two more guys boarded a plane for Canada to hunt for geese and ducks. Beautiful days lead to nice hunts...

Time for sports

Friday night Football

Huskies first (Jeremy coaches, Luke plays flag football)

Luke ran 45 yards for a touchdown. He turned on the jets when he realized a touchdown was in sight. I was excited, that I actually forgot to take a picture (did not know that was possible).

Ravens (Carter plays tackle football)

Carter's first tackle game. He played quarterback for several plays. (and I need to learn how to use my new camera for sports under the lights, any tips?)

Saturday Soccer

Carter and Luke play, Jeremy coaches
Carter played amazing defense. The opposing team made it down the field only a few times the entire game. Luke is getting right in there and clearing the ball.
