Those Snow Days

Despite crazy cold temperatures, boys still want to play in the snow.
The only problem is, snow in the face hurts a little more when it is soooo cold.

Hit the slopes

Another snow day, another day of canceled school.

Hop in the car and head out to ski.  Mom and Brayden hanging out in the lodge.  Carter and Luke on the slopes together.  Trying out any and every slope (except black diamonds, those can only happen when dad is with them).  Trying out a few little tricks, like rails, etc.  And possibly racing each other down the slopes...
It was a very cold and windy day, just look at Luke's face.  Many, many runs down the slopes.  Only a fifteen minute hot chocolate break and they were back out.

Dog sitting and snow days

Our dog's sister, Maddie, is staying with us for a bit.  Maddie is more accustomed to a life of leisure...our dog, Gander eats dog food, fights for attention and tries not to cause more chaos.

Well, everyone is home because of another snow day.  What to do?

Make smores in the fire place.  The dogs had very high hopes of partaking in the marshmallow feast.  They give it their best effort in patience.
Gander giving Maddie, the eyes..."I have been waiting years to eat off their plates, I get dibs."
After giving up on the s'mores, they had no problem finding a comfy place to rest.
But they still tried for some chocolate chip cookies...sadly not a one was dropped for them to retrieve.

A Snow for Boys (lots of boys)

Hanging out with friends on a snow day, have them all over for some fun.  Games inside.  Games out in the snow, some football, sledding and capture the flag (with snowball fight).

Inside for food (seriously lots of food, I had to keep fixing more).  Then back inside for some homemade hot chocolate, cookies and muffins.  And the fun was extended when they realized their team practices were canceled for the night, so let them hang out longer.

Ducks and Geese

Early Saturday (usually very cold) mornings you can find the boys sitting in a blind, waiting for some birds.

Some mornings there may be naps.  There is definitely hot chocolate and donuts.  The dogs are there.  And hopefully some birds.
Other mornings may have lots birds and great success.

Holiday Skiing

Waiting, not so patiently, for some real snow.  No real snow but the man made kind will do for a bit.
A couple of days to go skiing at Whitetail.   Carter and Luke have no problem trying out any trails or tricks (working up to those black diamond trails).  Jeremy does the more aggressive trails with them while I prefer the smooth, more leisurely type of slopes (I have no need for speed and if you do see me going fast, then I am just trying to keep from falling).
