Today is Luke's Birthday

It was a busy day for the birthday boy. Luke is 6!

Selected his breakfast - large cinnamon roll, banana and hot chocolate with lots of marshmallows.

Opened some cards from friends and family. He was thrilled with a "singing" card. He propped it open on his breakfast plate so it would play over and over again.

Off to school - he packed fun toys to pass out to his class, celebrating his birthday.

Home - Carter hid Luke's presents so he had to go on a scavenger hunt.

Selected dinner - his choice was popcorn shrimp, sweet potato, corn and a "nut" salad

Followed by dessert - cake, of course, with make-your-own sundae.

Party like you are 92

We joined Jeremy's family to celebrate Great-Grandma Sommerfeld's birthday at her abode in Sunrise.
She was wonderful with the children. The children were happy with pizza, punch, candy and cake!

Brayden brought his switch, that Luke recorded, "Happy Birthday Great-Grandma!"

Some bond between Luke and Great-Grandma. According to Luke it is because they both have white hair.

Turkey Day

Thanksgiving at Great-Grandpa, Great-Grandma and Aunt Janine's house (the first year food was catered due to the ever growing Jenkins family, about 40ish people there this year and still missing some).

Great-Grandma Sommerfeld even made it to the festivites.

Carter and Luke love it because it is an afternoon of playing with their cousins. Brayden did not enjoy it at all, he cried, fussed and screamed for the afternoon.

The kiddos wanted a funny picture taken, they were crazy. Can you tell?

Luke's 6th Birthday Party - is he MegaMind?

Luke hosted his friends at the local historic Tally Ho Theater to see MegaMind (the sign says Happy Bday Luke, he thought that was so exciting).

A party room for food and the theater all to the kids. Luke has a blast. There was a lot of popcorn spilled, many bathroom runs, all the kids talking and having fun.
One of the moms put Luke's face on the movie poster (look at megamind, it is Luke!)

Fried Chicken and early Thanksgiving

Since we are not able to make to MD for Thanksgiving, I loaded up the boys, picked up some local fried chicken and headed to Grammy's house, where we met my parents, sister and her kiddos, and my brother and his wife.
We loaded up on the food while the kids went crazy, they did a little craft and Carter read us some Thanksgiving books.
Brayden soaked in all the cuddles he could get.

For the birds

Jeremy and guys went on a hunt for birds (with the dogs and in a ground blind. Jeremy got two banded birds (to know what that means, ask him; I do not really know, other than it is a cool thing apparently)

School festivites

Carter's class - making a tribal mask. Parents were in charge of placing the plaster pieces on the faces. After drying, paint.

Luke's class - a Thanksgiving craft, snack (corn bread they made) and a video made by the Kindergartners about what they were thankful for...Luke said he was thankful for his mommy, daddy, baby brother, big brother and his dog.

Football 2010

Football season is officially completed.
Here are their official football pictures for the season.
Jeremy coached Luke's flag football team, the Huskies.

Carter played tackle football with the Ravens.

Both with undefeated seasons (even though they do not keep score but the kids really do).

Carter finished up his final game with a touchdown as the quarterback.

The season is done and thank goodness because it was getting too cold under those Friday night lights.

Brayden was stuffed with hand warmers to keep him comfortable. Luke always had fun, he just wanted the eye black (and snacks from the concession stand). And Carter was comfortable with all the gear on.

Soccer Party

Soccer season has come to an end...at least until spring.

Jeremy coached Carter and Luke. Carter excelled playing defense and became much more aggressive. And Luke was busy keeping up with everyone on the field, getting right in there not wanting the other team to get the ball.

A nice party to celebrate the great season...food and trophies!

Bounce and Movie

A day off of school, we head up to Maryland for some fun at a bounce house and a dollar (well $3) theater. Just mommy and her boys...
