Halloween Night

Trick or Treating is huge in Waterford. No one trick or treats in their own neighborhood. Everyone goes to the little historic village of Waterford. The school collects candy and gives it to the homes in the village. This year, my parents joined us as well as Brayden's nurse Christina...and Gander, our dog, came too! Carter and Luke were skeletons and Brayden was the cutest pumpkin ever.

..

The school also decorates houses each year with a theme. Each grade responsible for a house. This trick or treating is far beyond the imagination. House decorated with life size replications.
This year, Books made into Movies:

K - Horton Hears a Who
Luke grade and they recorded the kids saying "We are Here!" It was playing along with the music. And the little faces of the kindergartners.

1st - Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs

2nd - Stuart Little
Carter's grade, the students helped decorate and made sailboats (this is Carter's)

3rd - How to Train Your Dragon
Carter and Luke's favorite

4th - Diary of a Wimpy Kid
5th - Percy Jackson Lightning Thief

Not to mention other houses that were decorated for Harry Potter, a Drive in Movie playing kids Halloween Movies, smoke machines, bubble machines, it goes on and on.

The boys decorated pumpkins that were used to decorate the Corner Store in Waterford (Luke would not go close to his pumpkin because there was a scary guy there who looked to be fake but would jump up and scare people).

The hit of the night was Brayden with his pumpkin lights. We have never had so many people comment before.

Trunk or Treat

Our church puts on an event called Trunk or Treat. Decorated cars fill the church parking lot and cars host games and/or hand out candy. There was even carnival rides this year. Of course there was cotton candy, popcorn, crafts, etc. Oh it was fun. Carter and Luke (aka Superman and Spiderman) had a wonderful time and Brayden (my pumpkin) seemed to enjoy it all too!

Waterford Soccer

The soccer season is almost done. A winning season and some great soccer.

The Half Time Show

The boys were the half time show of the local high school football game.
Four little leagues games divided on the large football field. Carter (39) in the pads, Luke (3) in for flag, thought it was so cool!

The weather was freezing but they had a blast!

Getting ready for Halloween

Pumpkin carving of course. Carter and Luke selected the designs that they wanted (pre-selected by mommy, ones to choose from that mommy could handle). Luke does NOT like to clean out the insides, he thinks it is gross.

They worked hard to clean them out. Mommy worked hard to carve them and then we worked together to hot glue their stuff.
Brayden did not carve but played with the pumpkin seeds. He was not thrilled.

We also had friends over this week for some Halloween fun. Painted little spooky houses. Made spooky candy. Had orange hot chocolate (would not recommend it). And watched the classic Garfield's Halloween.

Carter's map

Carter's first big project in 2nd grade.

Make a map of your street using things around your house. He maticiously selected the items to use and then maticiously placed each item (he is a bit of a perfectionist).

He was so excited for the worked he completed.

Pumpkin Patch and Play

A weekend without sports?! What to do on a beautiful fall day?!

Head out to a large farm for a fall festival and pumpkin patch.

Lots of big slides, mazes, things to climb, food and oh yes, pumpkins.

And the yummiest cheeks ever.
