Opening weekend of football. First games of the season.
Huskies - Jeremy the coach, Luke #9...he sent some time at quarterback and scored their first touchdown of the season (ref got in the way of mom taking pictures). And then his cousin scored the second touchdown. It was a Jenkins boys day. The Huskies came away with a win, after a very, very hot day on the field.
Knights - Carter moved up to a new league. He is #2 and plays quarterback. They did not win but Carter played well and even had several great tackles.

Sight and Sound
What a way to celebrate Jeremy's mom's birthday (you have to ask her what big birthday it was...I will not give that away here!).
A lunch at Jeremy's sisters house (Brayden and I stayed home to rest for the show). Beautiful flowers and set up, amazing cupcakes by Shelley.
Then we all headed to Lancaster, PA to see Sight and Sound production of Noah.
It was bigger and better than I could have imagined. It was amazing to see the Bible come to life. I had so much fun watching the kids reaction to the show.

Bowling time
A rainy day and kids that are climbing the walls. So we met up with our friends for some bowling. These kids have spent some serious quality time together this summer, between camp, swimming, sports and just hanging out, they feel like family.
Of course the bowling was a bit of a competition (the Jenkins nor the Blizzards shy away from competition)...and some wanted it more than others and wanted the bumpers up to help with their score.

Cat in the Hat and Clara Barton
What a combo. Well that is what we found at Glen Echo Park in MD. We went to see the Cat in the Hat production at Adventure Theater (an adorable theater with great shows).
After the show, we had a picnic and explored Glen Echo Park more...it is such a hidden treasure.
And just across the parking lot, is the Clara Barton house. The boys completed some worksheets before the tour to understand more about Clara Barton and to receive some junior ranger badges (to add to their growing collection, a great way for them to learn history). We had a great park ranger that gave us a tour.

Football has begun
Well actually football started the first week in August...practice almost every night.
This was the kick-off weekend with football fest, two scrimmages for each team.
Luke on the Huskies (c league, #9) and Jeremy is the head coach. Luke spends some of the game as quarterback.
Carter has moved up to B league as a Knight, #2. They had a great start during football fest. Carter played great as quarterback and got in on some great tackles.

to Baltimore
One of the many things we wanted to do this summer was spend a day in Baltimore. A visit with my brother, sister-in-law and their new puppy (seriously makes you want a puppy).
A quick visit with the new puppy, then off to Ripley's Believe it or Not, right in the inner harbor. The place was great, so many fun things to do.
World's tallest man...was sitting until you stand next to him and he stands up (Luke was a little freaked out).
Tightrope over the inner harbor.
The kalidescope room. Lots of music, mirrors and lights (so many mirrors that Carter walked right into one).
Toothpick city, the kids could go underneath and over top.
Tons of fun.
We did not know there was a two way mirror that was recording us, later we found out it was recording, then the boys could control watching the video, backward, forward, slow motion. Then a room that we could not get the boys to leave. Blasting music and the screen would show you dancing with crazy graphics. Carter and Luke loved to dance.

We finished the museum with a little fun in the mirrors and headed to lunch.
And we had to hit up the Under Armor store.
