Vacation Bible School. Filled with fun, food and faith (and of course the water games that cooled them off). Carter and Luke had a great time this year.
The theme was Aviation this year!
The final day was the festival (in 100 degree heat), complete with food trucks in the parking lot...pizza, ice cream, cotton candy, popcorn.

Tale as old as time
Beauty and the Beast. A night out with Carter and Luke, down to DC for the National Theater's show.
The National Theater is just a couple of blocks from the White House (we also get to park at my favorite valet, the Willard). It was a beautiful evening.
The boys enjoyed the show. I neglected to think that since I live in an all boys house, we do not watch those "princess" movies. Carter had seen a little bit of the movie before. Luke had never seen it. I had to do a little explaining of the story line.
We had front row seats, we could watch the show and the orchestra pit. They liked the show and ready to try another one soon (hooray for me because I love musicals).

Luke's training
Luke loves wrestling (maybe a little too much for his mommy). Luke had wrestling camp; M-F 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. And he enjoyed every minute of it. He earned bragging rights at the dinner table each night.
Not only did these boys wrestled, along side of them were the high school wrestlers. The little boys were doing the same program as the high school wrestlers (not working with them just beside them).
Every day they had some sort of physical training/testing. Luke had to run 2 miles, his best time was just over 20 minutes. They had to do sit-ups, push-ups, pull-ups, run the stadium stairs, etc. They also had training like the world's strongest man competitions: lifting sand bags, flipping tires, kettle bells, etc.
Luke also worked on his favorite move, the cradle.

All Star Carter
Carter stayed with his Mimi and Papa (while Luke, Brayden and Carrie were at OBX and Jeremy was on travel for work), so he could attend his All Star Soccer program. He was selected for the top tier All Star team. They had a tournament with a lot of great soccer (not enough wins but played great soccer).
Of course he liked all of the gear too. New All Star jerseys, bag and trading patches with the other teams.

OBX with friends
A quick trip to the Outer Banks. Just Luke, Brayden and Carrie, driving down to hang out with friends.
The house was amazing, oceanfront with a pool, and Luke loved the movie theater in the house. We had a great time and lots of great food.

Tournament time
Soccer tournament time. Jeremy coach. Carter playing center.
Three games to determine who made it to the finals.
Two games Saturday. Two games Sunday, one of which was the finals. It was hot, in the 90s hot, with no breeze. The boys lost in the finals (Carter was NOT happy and barely muster a half smile for the 2nd place trophy). They had a great season and played amazing soccer.

Last Day of School 2012
Carter completed 3rd grade. Luke completed 1st grade.
The last day of school is a carnival!
Then Luke hosted the Waterford 1st graders to a pool party at our house (Carter was handing poolside at a friend's house)!
