A quick trip to a little fair nearby.
Had to stop for food (not Brayden just us, he just looks so sweet waiting for us to finish eating).
A pony/horse ride.
Pet some animals.
Go for an archaeological dig for Civil War artifacts.

Football Fest 2010
Carter, Luke and Jeremy had the season opening football festival.
Jeremy coaches Luke's flag team, the Huskies. The Huskies seemed to dominate their two games. Luke, #3, had some good runs (oh he wants to run the ball every time).
Carter, #39, played tackle on the Ravens. With the league he is in, the coaches rotate positions so that the players learn a lot. His team played three short games this morning. Carter was a blocker and no one got past him.

Carter was the QB for several plays and liked that (he did get tackled pretty hard and got right back up). On defense he got a couple of good tackles.
Picture of him taking the snap and handing off the ball.
Brayden was there cheering them on. He even brought a little football (trying to find a purple one since the Huskies are gray/purple and the Ravens are purple).
Of course after the games there was food, moonbounces, dunk tanks, yummy treats...

Children's Museum with cousins
We headed a couple of counties over to a Children's Museum.
The boys' cousins joined us there.
Oh so many things to try. A tree house with apples,
Build a "log cabin",

A pretend hospital and ambulance (which was a huge hit, as if we do not see it enough),
Rock wall to climb,
Funny Mirrors,
So many things to do for fun (these two are up to something...can you tell?)

Brayden made friends with a frog. I just love the way his little hands are holding it.
After the museum, we headed to a park to play and for a picnic.

The glory days
We arrived at home after church. Carter and Jeremy no where to be found. I heard some noise outside so I headed out on the deck.
This is what I found. Jeremy pulled out his college football helmet, Carter in all his gear; they were practicing tackling.
I was laughing pretty hard when I saw Jeremy in his old helmet (neither he or Carter appreciated my laughter).

Family Bowling
A late Saturday afternoon and we headed to a local bowling alley (not something we have ever done). We were ready for some "healthy" competition.
Bumpers up, the lightest bowling balls in the place, names on the board, Brayden relaxing in his wheelchair...we were ready.
Mommy won a couple of times, strikes and all (but we are not going to mention that a couple of strikes bounced off the bumpers!). Carter managed to get the ball down the lane many times without hitting the bumpers. Luke started his turn three lanes over, came running sideways and tossed the ball down the lane. And Jeremy kept us all together!
My camera battery ran out with only two pictures taken, the rest on my phone.

To have boys, means having forts
This summer has been insanely hot. Even too hot for the pool. What is a boy to do?
Build forts. They worked really hard on this fort. Animals guarding, a moat with a bridge and even the inside was divided into sleeping quarters and a place to play.
We let them keep it up for the night. They desperately wanted to sleep in their fort...we let them and it was not their best night sleep.

The sites of the fair
A cool and rainy summer evening, we head to fair. A bit of a drive to another county and a whole new experience.
We watched our first tractor (lawn mower) race. Grown men with decked out lawn mowers and racing gear on.
At the rodeo to watch some bull riding. Luke has always wanted to watch bull riding. Since he was three, he would watch it, if it was ever on tv. He was beside himself with excitement to watch the cowboys.

Paint your own Pottery
Carter, Luke, Brayden (Brayden's nurse) and I headed to a local paint-your-own-pottery studio.
Carter and Luke walked around and around picking out the perfect item to paint. Carter finally decided on a plate and Luke a bowl. Carter wanted something big enough to paint all of our names on it. Luke wanted a bowl because he wanted a special cereal bowl (he would eat cereal every meal if he could).
