The last, last day of preschool

Luke's last day of preschool.
He was thrilled. He did love preschool but has been asking when it was his turn for kindergarten.

He has done great in preschool. Three years of it. All the teachers were wonderful. The kiddos in the class were sweet. And he learned a lot.

He loves to tell you his full address and phone number; sound out words to prove that he is on his way to reading; and add up some numbers to show his math skills.

Above all he likes to organize games (like superheroes) for his preschool friends to play on the playground.

Luke was good in class but needed daily (perhaps minute by minute) reminders to be quiet, talk when it was his turn, trying to learn that every thought he has does not need to come out of his mouth immediately.

On his way to kindergarten!

I had a little turtle...

And he lived in a box.
He swam in the water
And he climbed on the rocks.
He snapped at a minnow.
He snapped at a flea.
He snapped at a mosquito.
And he snapped at me.
He caught the minnow.
He caught the flea.
He caught the mosquito.
But he didn't catch me!

Carter came home from Papa's farm with a new pet...a turtle. He found it while exploring the farm.
He and Luke worked hard to make the "best turtle habitat" (as Carter explained to Luke).

UPDATE: Gander found a turtle in the backyard. We now have two.

Luke's Preschool Graduation

Luke has finally graduated from preschool. He was thrilled for his big day. Telling anyone and everyone that would listen. He has enjoyed preschool and been with most of same children for the majority of the years.

He has been going for three years. And now the video.

The farm

For mother's day weekend we joined people from Jeremy's family at the farm. The kids have such a good time and come home a dirty, dirty mess from all of the fun.

Let's talk environment with Papa

Papa Johnson (Carrie's dad) came to speak in Carter's 1st grade class, since he has some knowledge about it!

Carter was so thrilled. He grinned the entire time. They talked air, land and water; had volunteers help with some demonstrations. And even had EPA goody (reusable) bags filled with coloring books, posters and more.

Time to garden

The boys (Jeremy, Carter and Luke) tackled the planting of the garden. Carter and Luke worked hard to put it together.

Here's hopin' the deer won't eat it all...

Gander is not having babies

Luke was telling everyone that Gander had to go to the doctor so she would not have any babies.

Yes, she had the surgery. Oh and she loves the Elizabethan collar...
